1. Warranty on refurbished and pre-owned machines
Every refurbished and pre-owned mobility scooter, power wheelchair and manual wheelchair we sell carries our 12-month Access Mobility Scooters Workshop Warranty from the date of delivery, unless the listing states otherwise.
- Covered: motors, transaxles, joystick and control modules, wiring looms, charger, battery pack cells, bearings, brakes, seat mechanisms and structural frame welds.
- Not covered: tyres and tubes, upholstery wear, fuses, bulbs, cosmetic scratches on pre-owned frames, and damage caused by water ingress, overload beyond the rated capacity, unauthorised repairs or using the wrong charger.
- Batteries: refurbished machines are supplied with tested batteries carrying a 6-month capacity warranty; new batteries carry the manufacturer's 12-month warranty.
2. New products
New scooters, wheelchairs and parts carry the full manufacturer warranty (typically 12-24 months) and are serviced through our workshop. Keep your invoice as proof of purchase for the manufacturer.
3. How to claim
Contact sales@accessmobilityscooters.co.za or WhatsApp us with your order number, the machine's serial number and a short video of the fault. We log the claim the same business day.
- Gauteng: we collect the machine free of charge, repair or replace the failed part, and return it free of charge.
- Outside Gauteng: we cover the return freight for warranty repairs and deliver it back at no cost to you.
- Most claims are resolved within 5-7 business days, using refurbished or new original-spec parts.
4. What we never do
We never refuse a legitimate warranty claim because of a change of mind, and we never charge an assessment fee on a machine still under warranty. If we cannot repair a fault covered by warranty within 21 days, we replace the machine or refund you in full.
